RF Attenuator Overview

Vinstronics fixed RF attenuators cover broadband microwave and mmWave signal paths through selected high-power and low-temperature configurations. Frequency coverage, attenuation values, impedance match and power ratings are specified by individual model; a platform's highest frequency and power ratings should not be combined.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the maximum power rating apply across the full frequency range?

Not necessarily. Maximum power and frequency ratings depend on the specific model, attenuation value and thermal conditions. Do not combine the highest ratings from different models.

Which cryogenic attenuator interfaces are available?

Selected 2.92 mm, SMA, SMP and SSMP fixed attenuator platforms are available for cryogenic applications. Frequency, attenuation and operating-temperature limits must be confirmed for each model.

What information is useful for an attenuator quotation?

Provide the operating frequency range, attenuation value, RF input power, interface and gender, operating conditions and quantity. Include cooling or thermal constraints for high-power applications.
