Differential probing for wafer, PCB and mixed-mode characterization with GSSG and GSGSG contact geometries from DC to 145 GHz.
GSSG vs GSGSG — choose by DUT pad geometry
Both configurations support differential measurements. The correct choice is primarily defined by the DUT pad order and ground arrangement, not by frequency alone.
GSSG
Ground–Signal–Signal–Ground places the differential signal pair between the two outer ground contacts.
GSGSG
Ground–Signal–Ground–Signal–Ground adds an interleaved center ground contact between the two signal contacts.

Differential Probe Selection Questions
What is the difference between GSSG and GSGSG?
GSSG uses a G–S–S–G contact order. GSGSG adds a center ground contact, giving a G–S–G–S–G arrangement. Selection should follow the DUT pad geometry and required ground structure.
When should I choose GSGSG instead of GSSG?
Choose GSGSG when the DUT includes an interleaved center ground between the differential signal contacts or when the measurement structure specifically requires that center-ground arrangement.
How should I specify differential probe pitch?
Provide the full DUT pad order and center-to-center contact spacing together with the target frequency. A drawing or close-up image is recommended before ordering.
What information is needed for model selection?
Provide the required configuration, target frequency, DUT pad layout, pitch and DUT type. Non-standard geometries should include a drawing or close-up image.
